This kit includes all the hardware that we use for mounting a backplane in the Medium Rugged Case (Apache 2800).
The female side of the standoff goes against the inside bottom of the case. A screw with a built-in gasket goes in from the outside of the case hidden inside of the feet of the case. The gasket helps maintain a degree of sealing of the overall case.
The backplane can either be mounted directly on top of the standoffs, male side, or after using the included split washer and extra nut. That extra spacing allows the original bottom piece of foam included in the Apache 2800 to remain installed and the standoffs going through it (just cut a small slit and poke the standoff through). This provides some additional stabilization if you would like to use it. If you attempt to use the standoffs and the foam without the additional nut for spacing, the backplane will have a tight fit pressed up against the foam.
Kit contains:
4x #8-32 male-female absorbative standoffs
4x #8-32 screws with built-in gasket to improve sealing against the outside of the case
8x #8-32 nut, a set of four for use as extra spacers and a set of 4 used to secure a backplane to the male side of the standoffs
4x #8 lockwashers, used underneath the 4 nuts used as spacers
